Mayor Hickenlooper

Celebrities, musicians, protesters and oh yeah, policy-makers.  It's easy to forget the DNC next week is actually supposed to prop up politicians and amplify their voices on the big stage.

It looks like a few of Colorado's Democratic Golden Boys will get their shot: Governor Bill Ritter will give the biggest speech of his life prior to Barack Obama next Thursday night at Invesco.  Mayor Hickenlooper will speak on opening night of the convention at the Pepsi Center on Monday.

In addition to their speaking duties, Hick and Ritter will participate in Green Frontier Fest, Denver's kickoff to the DNC at Sculpture Park at the Performing Arts Complex this Sunday, August 24 from 10am to 6pm.  The event aims to coalesce the Old West with the New Frontier that is energy development.  There will be live music from local favorite Angie Stevens and the Beautiful Wreck, US Pipe and a presentation from Daryl Hannah.

Huh?

It should be a wild week.
