World Run Day was founded in 1999. The 11th annual World Run Day takes place on Sunday November 8, 2009.

The Event

Runners dedicate a run to someone special and the event organizer mails participants an official World Run Day 2009 event t-shirt. Once registered, runners will automatically be listed on the event site as a participant.

Runners from all over the world will be called upon to promote the benefits of running and at the same time donate any amount to a favorite charity. This event is located worldwide iIn many cities throughout the USA and throughout the world.

World Run Day Expo

This unique international Runner Expo takes place November 5-8 and will contain athletic merchandise; clothing, food, shoes, and many of the same items typically found at a running expo. Visit the World Run Day website for additional details on the Expo.

World Run Day Statistics

• Youngest participant - 6 years old
• Oldest participant - 65 years old
• Shortest distance - 50 yard dash
• Longest distance - 26.2 miles
• In 2008, World Run Day raised over $64,000 for various charities
