In what is sure to be an evening of snark, authenticity and fun, Anthony Bourdain and Mario Batali will take to the stage at The Paramount Theatre on May 30th at 8 p.m. From the website:
"Anthony Bourdain and Mario Batali, alleged “bad boys of cuisine,” are not your typical celebrity chefs. Witness the two as they discuss the world of restaurants, chefs and cooking in what is sure to be a colorful evening of foodie banter. Joined in the mix to moderate the discussion is Seattle’s Luke Burbank, host of KIRO Radio’s “Too Beautiful to Live.”"
Bourdain, author of Kitchen Confidential and other books, and host of the highly popular TV series No Reservations on the Travel Channel, wowed a sold out audience at the Moore Theatre last year. I know. I was there. And I left even more in love with the king of "tell it like it is," which I didn't think possible.
Mario Batali, as well as being a celebrity chef in his own unique way, is also known in Seattle as being the son of the owner of Salumi, home of the finest cured meats in the city. The daily line out the door is a testament to the skills and creations of Armandino Batali, Mario's dad. Mario himself is a joy to watch and a refreshing change of pace from the typical celebrity chef.
If you're anywhere in the vicinity of being a foodie you can't miss this show, and to ensure you get tickets, there will be an internet only presale from 10:00 a.m. on February 27th to 10:00 p.m. on March 5th. Click this link when the time comes and use the code "pork" when purchasing. How apt is that? There is also an auction for front row tickets and a chance to meet the stars which ends tomorrow.
