Husband and wife team, Marilyn, 61 and Melvin Carroll have teamed up in creating GenKvetch.com, a social networking site that caters to baby boomers. The Queens, NY natives dreamed of the site after watching their adult daughter spend an abundant amount of time on Facebook and thought, why not create a site for our age demographic, similar to the vastly popular Facebook and Twitter.

The site was launched in 2008 with assistance from a close friend and retired engineer, Steve Greenbaum of Florida. GenKvetch is easy to navigate and discuss a wide range of topics from retirement, health care, dating, health tips and living well during the golden years. Although Facebook has a growing demographic of female users 55 and older, the Carrolls and Steve hope to obtain a share of the piece of the pie.
