Workshop for Women is a woman-owned small business that offers an inviting environment for women to gain home improvement skills. With no more than 6 students per class, there is plenty of personalized attention and instruction. These courses address the needs of women who often have little or no experience with basic skills required for many home improvement tasks. Courses offered include power tool operation, dry wall repair, basic electrical and plumbing skills.
If you’re overwhelmed trying to determine what class to take first, consider Workshop for Women’s ‘Become Your Own Handywoman’ series. There are two modules in this series, Basic Handywoman and Advanced Handywoman, which encompass a group of classes designed to increase your overall home maintenance efficiency.
During the fall and spring, Workshop for Women also offers a Sprinkler System Repair and Maintenance course. This course teaches the basics of troubleshooting your sprinkler system. More importantly for this time of year, you’ll learn the proper way to shut down your system in order to prevent freezing and breaking of your pipes and components.
