Britney Spears is, according to an entry on her blog from last week, "so excited" by her upcoming world tour. Friends of Britney Spears tell People.com that the 27-year old singer is "determined" to make a success of her Circus tour that kicks off tomorrow night in New Orleans.

However, having come back from a year of excess, extremes and embarrassment, determination might not be enough for the Pop Princess in this economy. Rumors are whipping around the web that sales are proving to be very slow and that there will be plenty of empty seats in the Big Easy tomorrow and on other stops throughout the tour.
MSNBC is reporting that a "person close to the production" says that “group sales are down considerably and then you’ve got individual tickets that cost as much as $500 apiece. That’s a lot of money to spend on an artist who isn’t a sure bet right now.”
“She’s worked really, really hard to make this good. Granted, there’ve been some hiccups along the way, but she’s going to put on a good show. I just hope there are people there to see it,” the typically anonymous source is quoted as saying. “This is really her last chance.”
Isn't it always Britney Spears' last chance? The girl has more kicks at the can than Bill Clinton backstage with super models at New York Fashion Week. Maybe it's just that weary Britney fans don't want to see their money going to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. In a deal worked out over the couple's two sons being able to spend time with their Mama while she is on tour in North America and Europe, K-Fed, who has sole custody of young Sean and Preston, will get $5,000 a week from Britney to ... well basically do nothing

Maybe, or maybe, after a decade on the charts and in the public eye, Britney Spears' day is done ... couldn't happen to a nicer girl.
