PATRIOTS COME IN ALL SHAPES & SIZES

Some elements of Pop Culture are a bit of a cul de sac, some are a deadend and some are like the autobahn - long, lean, fast, and fun.

Lindsay Lohan, who knows no end, is a Pop Culture autobahn.

And the actress, who'll be showing up on Ugly Betty again this season, put pedal to the metal today on her MySpace blog - which has become a must read this summer for the sheer Twitter poetry of her prose if nothing else - on Sarah Palin, the news that the Alaska Governor's 17-year old unmarried daughter Bristol is five months pregnent and what America should really be concentrating on.

You go Lindsay - Let me put my seat belt on!

"I've been watching the news all morning, like everyone else — and (I) keep hearing about the issues related to 'teen pregnancy,' says the former Mean Girl. "Well, I think the real problem comes from the fact that we are taking the focus off of getting to know Sarah Palin and her political views, and what she can do to make our country a less destructive place .. I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter's pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them-if elected. I get Sarah Palin's views against abortion, but i would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what."

Lindsay goes on to write that she thinks "that parents need to recognize how important it is to talk to their children about the things that can result from being sexually active if they aren't protecting themselves (birth control, condoms, etc.)"

I wonder if her jailbird Dad Michael or reality show Mom Dina ever had that talk with Lindsay?

Aww ... it doesn't matter, her heart's in the right place even if her politics are all over the road.
