The platinum selling pixy with the platinum mane was spotted last week at London's Black Rat Press Gallery buying some art - Street Art to be specific. Proving that, like her hit single of a few years back, that she finds beauty in what some find ugly and squalid, Aguilera picked up a couple of pieces by UK Street Artist D*Face.
Not quite ready to be called the Banksy of his generation, D*Face, who plays with iconography to comment on context and consumerism, is proving a good investment for those, like Christina, who have collected fellow Street Artist Blek Le Rat or the high priced Banksy in the past. Unlike Banksy, D*Face's work is still reasonably affordable, especially in art market terms. You can pick up one of his pieces for around $6,000. Banksy's stuff, which is a fav of Brad and Angelina, goes for around $700,000 as a starting price.
And here's the thing, there's an auction of work by Banksy, Blek Le Rat, and D*Face, among others, on October 14th at Dreweatts' Shoreditch Studios in London.
Viewing starts on October 10, but you can check out the catalogue here and make a bid over the Internet.
Remember, a little bit of Art can be a good investment when times are tough. Just ask Christina Aguilera.
