"Something evil's lurking in the dark" ...

When it comes to writing about Pop Culture, there is no height to tall to scale and no limbo low you can’t get down to. After all, our culture is, from celebrity scandals to Presidential candidates like Barack Obama and John McCain hitting the late night talk shows, to Paris Hilton getting "fake President" advice from Martin "Jed Bartlett" Sheen, to the inexhaustible tabloid resource know as Charlie Sheen and Bill Clinton to ... well, you get the point.

But sometimes a true T-Rex comes along that owns the moment.

Just such a monster is about to rear its head in America on Saturday October 25.

That's when, from Salem to Portland to Kansas City to New York to LA, Seattle, Compton, Corpus Christi and all points in between, America is going to join 12 other countries to Thrill The World. Join in and you can be part of a world record and live like it's 1983 again.

So what's Thrill the World? I am, of course, glad you asked.

Thrill the World is an international group dance movement that started in 2006 where crowds of people, including a whole yard of prisoners in the Philippines, swarm together to do Michael Jackson's routine from the Thriller video.

See the Thriller dance as performed by inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center here

The convicts wore their Orange jumpsuits but other dancers have worn the red leather like Michael did, some come as zombies, and some come as they are. And it is, regardless of what you think of the scary sight that is Michael Jackson and his career today, amazing.

From the initial group of 62 zombies in Toronto who set a Guinness World record for Largest Thriller Dance in one location to a new world record last year for the Largest Simultaneous Thriller Dance in multiple locations with 1,722 people moving and grovin' in 52 cities on five continents.

On October 25, in 93 cities in 13 countries all over the world, the dance will be on again.

And if you can't get it on tomorrow, there's going to more Thrill the World on Halloween, so check their site for updates.

Maybe Michael Jackson himself will show up this time? Stranger things have happened
