Diigo announced today that Looksmart (NASDAQ:LOOK), a premier search advertising network company, will transfer over all technology and services related to 2004 acquired Furl in return for an equity position in the company. Diigo is a powerful research tool and a knowledge-sharing community and mixing that with Furl's social bookmarking website that makes it easy to save, share, and explore favorite web pages makes a ton of sense.

This also makes a lot of sense for LookSmart who is working hard to sharpen its corporate focus, which this partnership does nicely since LookSmart will continnue to keep its finger on the growing knowledge management space while removing its direct responsibilities and resource requirements.
