Halloween is a mere 10 days away and because of the super snowy weather outside, this is a quick list of ways to care for and extend the life of your carefully carved pumpkin.

1) Keep the pumpkin in at night or if there is a chance of it freezing. Pumpkins do not like to freeze. They get black and smelly very shortly thereafter and thus endeth the life of your Jack O Lantern.

2) Put a thin coat of petroleum jelly on all of the exposed edges. This will keep them from withering in on themselves and making the Jack look like a toothless old man.

3) Put a little vent hole in the roof, sprinkle some cinnamon on the lid remember to extinguish the candle. No one likes flaming Jack O Lantern, especially when it smells bad, they are however, slightly more acceptable when on fire and smelling charmingly like cinnamon.
