Coming off a rough California road trip in which they went 1-2, the Penguins return to the East Coast to Boston to face the Bruins on Tuesday night before returning home for a three game home stand.
After starting the season 8-1, the Penguins have been hit hard recently with keys injuries that have changed the face of the team and instilled a cause for concern for the Penguins as they have struggled to score goals and to get the power play going.
The following players are currently out of the lineup:
D Sergei Gonchar – broken left wrist – Out until the end of November/beginning of December
C Evgeni Malkin – strained shoulder - Out until mid to late November
RW Tyler Kennedy – lower body injury – day to day
D Kris Letang – upper body injury – day to day
C Max Talbot – torn rotator cuff – Out until the end of November/beginning of December
In place of the players on the growing injury list, the Penguins have inserted Christopher Bourque, Martin Skoula, and Chris Conner into the starting lineup and recently recalled defenseman Deryk Engelland from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
