This financial education effort was designed to increase Coloradoans' financial literacy, is taking place April 18-25. This series of workshops and seminars was created by Jump$tart Colorado, a non-profit with the charge of helping residents learn about becoming financially fit.
The Money Smart events are free and are taking place not only in the Denver Metro area but all across Colorado. The events are designed for all ages. Click here for their calendar of events.
Bring your teens to the "Check Writing Relay" or younger kids can make a piggy bank or go "Fishing for Money" for a free $5 when they open a new account. College students can learn about loan repayment options and the importance of starting a savings account. The soon to be wedded couples can learn to "Talk Before You Walk". Seniors can learn some estate planning tips at the "Leave a Legacy" workshop. The "Frauds and Scams" event will address the growing problem of identity theft and how to protect yourself from becoming a victim.
