One of Silicon Valley's most anticipated fitness events is just about here - the Livestrong Challenge, San Jose,  Saturday and Sunday (July 11, 12). 

Saturday

• Livestrong Village: Packet pick-up, cancer information, sports gear and apparel, and new product demonstrations, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m, Center for Performing Arts, 255 Almaden Blvd., San Jose
• Livestrong Fundraising Appreciation Dinner: Participants raising $3,000+ invited to attend, with keynote by former Hewlett Packard CEO and current breast cancer patient, Carly Fiorina

• More than 3,000 registered participants will ride, run and walk while uniting to pick a fight with cancer and stand up for the nearly 28 million people living with cancer worldwide.
• Post-Challenge Celebration: Participants, guests and spectators will enjoy a celebration featuring food, drinks and live entertainment - 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts, 255 Almaden Blvd., San Jose, CA

Street Closures

• Eastbound Park Avenue between Highway 87 and Almaden Blvd. will have one lane closed on Friday, July 10 at 4:00 p.m.
• Park Avenue between Highway 87 and Market Street ~ Saturday, July 11, 6:00 a.m. – Sunday, July 12, 11:59 p.m.
• Almaden Boulevard between San Carlos and San Fernando ~ Saturday, July 11, 6:00 a.m. – Sunday, July 12, 11:59 p.m.
• Almaden Boulevard between San Fernando and Santa Clara Street ~ Saturday, July 11, 7:00 p.m. – Sunday, July 12, 11:59 p.m.
• No access will be allowed on-
Santa Clara between Almaden Boulevard and Market Street and also between Third and Fifth Streets,
Market between Santa Clara Street and San Carlos,
westbound San Carlos between Fourth and Market,
Fourth Street between St. James and San Carlos,
Fifth Street between Santa Clara Street and St. John,
St. John between Fifth Street and Second Street,
Second Street between St. John and Bassett,
Bassett between Second Street and San Pedro, and
San Pedro between Bassett and Santa Clara on Sunday, July 12 from 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. for the 5K Run/Walk portion. Streets enclosed by this boundary will be open, but traffic will not be able to cross any of these streets without the assistance of San Jose Police.
