
The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) announced the LIVESTRONG Challenge San Jose raised over $1.3 million for the fight against cancer at its July 13 event.
The event included more than 3,000 cyclists, runners and walkers, along with 600 volunteers, gathered at the Center for Performing Arts to participate in the LIVESTRONG Challenge, the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s premier fundraising event.

Through the generosity of 17,000 donors, San Jose participants raised over $1.3 million this year to support LAF research projects, community-based programs and advocacy initiatives.
The LIVESTRONG Challenge was held for the second time in San Jose this year and will continue in Philadelphia, PA (August 23) and Austin, TX (October 24-25).
San Jose participants took part in the event by walking or running 5 kilometers or riding 10, 50, 65 or 100 miles, with courses starting at the Center for Performing Arts, located at Almaden and Park Blvd., and moving through Silicon Valley and the heart of downtown San Jose.
