Run, walk, bike, hike, swim or golf.  This month is full of great fitness events.  Of course, if you are more of an indoor fitness person, there's also hula classes, yoga, gym classes for toddlers, and a 4th of July fitness promotion. 

The format is a little different this month - some of the events have descriptions alongside.  No, it's not paid advertising.  I'm just trying something new to see how folks like it. Let me know if you think it makes the (already long) calendar too long.

El Camino YMCA Gym Ventures for Toddlers/Preschoolers

Keep your little ones engaged this summer in YMCA Gym Ventures for kids ages 3 months to 4 years old. Improve your child’s motor skills, coordination, and social skills while they’re having fun in an air-conditioned area with safe play equipment. Call (650) 969-9622.

July 4 - 5 More Bang for Your Buck Fitness promotion, CORE Fitness (Los Gatos) is a new fitness facility  and who would have thought we'd be going to Los Gatos for a great fitness bargain.  But here it is: any three  group exercises classes for $10, or try any single class for just $4.  So you've been thinking about a group class and didn't know where to start?  Ok, no more excuses.  You can choose from yoga, Body Pump, Zumba and several more.

July 7 - Willow Glen FitCamp for Women over 40

July 7 - Moonstruck by Yoga, El Camino YMCA, (Mountain View) 7:30 p.m.- Join Sandy Thorpe for yoga under the full moon with live drummers. Bring a mat or towel and wear warm clothes. July 26 - Catfish Crawl  Open Water Swim South Bay - With plenty of triathletes and swimmers in the Bay Area, this is the chance for them to swim (legally) in one of California's best and most scenic reservoirs: Steven's Creek Reservoir. The venue is ideal for competition, offering clean water, warm sun, and a beach party atmosphere. This open water swim is quickly becoming one of the Bay Area's best summer events.

July 26 - Wharf to Wharf (Santa Cruz - Capitola) - Dubbed the "Best little road race in California"  is an annual six-mile race from Santa Cruz to Capitola-by-the-Sea.

July 31 - Birds and Babies Stroller Hike

All month - register now for August/September  Living Strong Living Well programs throughout Silicon Valley

All month - buy your tickets now for the events of the National Senior Games here in the Bay Area, beginning August 1
