Squaw Valley happily announced that the second snow of the season has already hit the slopes.
And if that's what you want to do this winter get in shape now - lots of calf, thigh, arm, back and ab work.
You'll also be happy for this official word that:
due to the anticipated El Niño projected for this winter, "the snow gods’ outlook is promising."
This is the 60th anniversary of Squaw Valley and the 50th anniversary of the 1960 Winter Olympics. To celebrate, the pre-season rates are rolled back rates from the late 1980's but tomorrow - October 15 - is the last day for these prices.
The special Season Passes can be purchased online. Up-to-date event information is also available online.
This year's season is being promoted as the 50/60 celebratory season and it kicks-off Nov 21, 2009, when the resort opens for skiing and riding.
Visitors will watch Squaw Valley pro-skier and BASE jumper, JT Holmes BASE jump out of the legendary Squaw Valley Cable Car.
