Races around the region for the weekend of October 24-25, 2009

This Sunday in Livermore the Grape Stomp Half Marathon, 10k and 5k will conclude with wine tasting festivities. For those who can’t get enough of running, there will be 12 hour and 24 hour runs in San Francisco on Saturday. Continuing until Sunday for those in the longer race.

This is an excellent weekend for finding a USATF certified course to run. Among this weekends events that have USATF certified courses are the Grape Stomp races, the LMJS Fourth Sunday Runs, the Lake Natoma Four Bridges Half Marathon, the Komen Race for the Cure 5k, the Marsh Madness 5k, and the Lafayette Reservoir races. The Silicon Valley Marathon is certified but the Half Marathon and 5k are now run on different courses than courses that were certified in the past. The Big Sur River Run claims their course is certified, but the certification does not show up in the USATF database.
