NOAA/HPC

An upper low now over Arizona will track steadily eastward, interacting with low and mid-level moisture to produce widespread rainfall. Total rainfall amounts may approach two inches especially east of I-35. The majority of north Texas should receive at least an inch of rain.

The map above, issued by the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center (HPC), shows much of the Metroplex within the one inch contour, and heavier amounts as you move eastward. This matches up well with the expected position of a surface trough and more abundant moisture further east.

An arctic front moving southward Monday will bring strong north winds and abruptly colder temperatures in its wake by Monday night.

Readings will likely drop as much as 20 degrees within a few hours of the front’s passage.
