A HEAT ADVISORY is now in effect for all of north Texas and southern Oklahoma until 9pm Saturday evening. Very hot temperatures along with fairly high dewpoint values will make for Heat Index values of 105-110 during the peak heating hours.

This is dangerous heat for strenuous exercise and people are urged to choose cooler times of the day or at the very least take frequent breaks if you are working in the heat.

Thursday, July 9 was the10th day of 2009 with 100-or-better readings at DFW International. These have been:
