Areas north and south of DFW got 1-3" of rain...not much in the middle

Sunday’s rainfall for the Metroplex was a disappointment (if you were hoping for rain at least) as amounts were quite low:

DFW  .06"

Dallas-Love  .15"

Fort Worth-Meacham .09"

As the above storm total precipitation graphic shows, the heavy rainfall zones navigated both north and south of the I-20 corridor.

Such occurrences are a frustration to the general public and forecasters alike. It illustrates how the forecast can be accurate (it rained) and still not meet expectations.

Rain chances will focus southward along the front today and Tuesday, but there will be a 20% chance of a storm forming from daytime heating, or from weak upper waves traveling by.

It will be heating up again but probably a bit below last week’s highs.
