As a part of Tornado Awareness Month, the Jackson Weather Examiner will review severe storms that affected the state throughout the month of November.
On this date -November 9th:
In 2000, several severe storms swept across portions of Southeastern Mississippi, producing high winds, hail and a isolated weak tornado.
A F-0 touched down and tracked 1 mile through Lamar County, downing several trees in a rural area. Golf-ball sized hail also caused some roof damage in Lamar County.
Trees and power lines were blown down in several counties with 3 notable wind damage reports.
