
Heavy rain led to numerous flash flood warnings with extensive flash flooding reported in some areas, Tuesday night.
A Flash Flood Watch was in effect across Northern Mississippi and portions of Central Mississippi, as heavy rains overspread the area.
The National Weather Service warned, Tuesday afternoon of a possible significant flash flooding event if 2 inches or more of rain fell in a short period or time and or in a few hours time, due to the very saturated state of the soil.
The heavy rains overspread much of Northern and Central Mississippi by Tuesday evening, with many areas receiving over 2 inches of rainfall, especially across Northern and Central Mississippi- with isolated areas over 3 and 4 inches in portions of Northwestern and West Central Mississippi.

The heavy rainfall led the National Weather Service to issue numerous flash flood warnings for over 25 counties across the state, as the heavy rains spread to the east and southeast.

FLOODING REPORTS:
Also due to very saturated soils from over 20 inches of rainfall in parts of Northern Mississippi since September, there were a few reports of trees and power lines down in Tupelo and Pontotoc .

The chances of rain will finally come to an end by Friday with much colder and drier weather arriving just in time for the weekend.
