Raising twins is a tough job.... it's twice the work: twice the diaper changes, twice the tantrums, twice the baths, twice the night feedings, twice the various activities... exhausting. Most moms of twins would also agree we are twice blessed, but the pure physical and mental exertion of raising multiples can leave us feeling sequestered, drained, and in need of support. Heck, the same goes for motherhood in general! But often doubly so for parents of twins!
I've been having a great time browsing the incredible site Rochester.momslikeme.com. Are you a mom trying to get in touch and commiserate with others in the same boat as you? I strongly recommend perusing this site.
There is a group on the site just for moms of multiples... but it only has eight members and no discussions! I have joined and plan to make a post today. Check it out... let's all get something going here.
There are also groups for stay-at-home moms, working moms, west side moms, east side moms, moms of special needs kids, and many others.
The site has great resources like things to do in Rochester, a marketplace to buy and sell kid stuff and discussion threads. The site's main purpose is for moms to get together, in person or just on the web, and support one another in our most difficult, strenuous, and rewarding job: motherhood.
Tuesday twin-talk is now a bi-weekly column about raising multiples in the Rochester area.
