There’s no denying that Cape Cod is rural. And that nights on the Cape are pretty quiet. So leaving Cape Cod for a European city is the perfect change of pace. And taking advantage of the nightlife is part of the fun.
Café Bizon Blues Jam Session every Monday night
Best of all is finding out of the way Brussels bars, like Café Bizon, where the locals know that Monday nights are blues jam nights. Hosted by a variety of local bluesmen, these Monday night jam sessions get under way around 9:30 pm. There is no cover charge and the music lasts until the early morning hours.
Drop in musicians may be local or international artists and each host has their own way of pulling newcomers and regulars together to play blues standards and more. Check out the music of Geezer Young, one of the regular hosts, in the video below. The acoustics aren’t perfect and, because this is a drop-in blues jam, the music will vary in quality. But it will be hard not to have a good time in this funky little bar.
