The extremely popular traditional Thanksgiving Day Buffet held at Plimoth Plantation has already sold out its two most sought after sittings. But there are still places available for the 11 am and 6 pm holiday dinners. Plimoth Plantation is a historic site with a replica 1627 colonial American village as its centerpiece.
Thanksgiving Day Buffet dinner reservations include museum admission
Along with a very traditional turkey dinner with squash potatoes, cornbread stuffing, local Cape Cod cranberry sauce, and of course pumpkin and apple pie, served in the area where the first Thanksgiving was celebrated, reservations include access to the entire Plimoth Plantation. You might want to start at the Mayflower II, docked in Plymouth harbor. As you head toward Plimoth Plantation, stop to see Plymouth Rock before heading to the main plantation site.
Enjoy a tour of Plimoth Plantation before or after your Thanksgiving meal
Plimoth Plantation is a living museum, where you can wander through a replica English village, a crafts center and the Nye Barn, home to rare breed livestock. You can also visit the Wampanoag Native American homesite where local Wamapanoag tribe members will tell a slightly different version of the first Thanksgiving.
Other Thanksgiving dinner options at Plimoth Plantation
If the early and late sittings at the buffet don’t fit your schedule, or if you want a little more flexibility for your holiday meal, Plimoth Plantation also offers Thanksgiving in the Courtyard where traditional turkey dinners will be served from 11 am to 4 pm. For a light snack or something to drink, the Patuxet Café will be open from 9 am to 5 pm.
Unfortunately the Victorian Thanksgiving Dinner is sold out for Thanksgiving Day but you do have one last chance to enjoy this 19th century themed dinner, with costumed hosts and period singers, on Friday November 27, 2009 at 1 pm
