A local contingent of Longmont residents were in attendance today at the Colorado State Capitol for a "$30k a plate" pig roast to let President Obama know that there are people who didn't want to put our kids into debt for a bill that spends more than has been spent in the entire conflict in Iraq.
Longmont residents saw and spoke to Colorado State Senators Shawn Mitchell and Scott Renfroe, Colorado Republican party chair Dick Wadhams, Attorney General John Suthers, John Caldara of The Independence Institute, and political commentator Michelle Malkin.
As overheard at the rally...it wasn't about being red or blue today. The people in attendance (with the exception of those who showed up to criticize the rally as "sour grapes" ) don't agree with the amount of "pork" money, that those who have studied this bill have estimated will cost the average American family $30k each, thrown into the stimulus bill that President Obama was signing not too far away from the Capitol building in Denver.
Below are pictures taken by those from Longmont who attended today's event.
