Girls at a local middle school in Longmont walked more than boys!
Today Brooke Wagner of CBS4 was at Trail Ridge Middle School in Longmont to do a story about how 7th grade middle school students exceeded their walking goal as part of the Live Well Longmont challenge. Apparently they also had a (kinda) friendly competition and counted the steps of the girls and compared them to the results of the boys.
According to the story, 7th grader Jessica Perez confessed "I've been doing more walking than usual because I kinda wanted to beat the guys…kinda a lot."
"I was actually kinda amazed. This is the first class where the girls took more steps than the guys. I'm used to the guys being more athletic and active and stuff and so the girls to have more steps kinda surprised me," said 7th-grader Tyler Heather.
