Last week when the weather was cooperating my friends and I went looking for a different patio option then our usual suspects for a little happy hour socializing. After several attempts we got tired of wandering around only to discover packed patio after
packed patio so we finally settled on Bellanotte which had tables available. We strolled through the doors to the sizable patio and settled in at a table and waited for service. It took a bit to get noticed, probably because we didn't look like the typical Bellanotte crowd of prowling cougars in stilletos and halter tops, but after the server arrived and reviewed the Happy Hour menu with us, I was surprised to find good drink specials and an even better appetizer selection.
By the amount of food we ordered one would have thought we hadn't eaten in weeks. We ordered shrimp cocktail, not on special, but tasty none the less, spinach dip, garlic cheese bread and finally their pizza rolls which I was very surprised to find on a fine-dining menu.
Everything we ordered was delicious but the pizza rolls were by far my favorite, not surprising I suppose. The appetizers ranged from $3-$5 and drinks, including domestic beers, house wine and specialty cocktails were roughly the same. The atmosphere at Bellanotte is comfortably swanky and they have a great outdoor area with a mix of tables and couches.
Bellanotte means “beautiful night" and it was in all respects. I would definitely go back to Bellanotte for the patio, the pizza rolls, the good service (once we got their attention) and the all around atmosphere. There was excellent people watching as you might imagine and that is almost always my favorite part of any evening.
