DiGiorno delivers ultimate toppings but average taste

DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings

It's not often I expound on a frozen pizza but this weekend I gave the new DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings pizza a go so I thought i'd share my thoughts.  I am a pepperoni loving freak so this new offering seemed like the perfect fit. I was very excited about the "50% more pepperoni"  claim and was hoping they had finally beefed up one of my favorites, the DiGiorno Rising Crust pizza with more toppings.   

Overall, i'd say the pizza tasted fine but I was a bit underwhelmed. They definitely delivered on the increased toppings as there were plenty of pepperonis to go around.  Unfortunately, they put the ultimate toppings on a different crust.  I love the rising crust but the thin "pizzeria style" crust let me down and it didn't taste like the traditional DiGiorno sauce I'm used to.  

I'm all for trying new things and I commend them for creating an ultimate topping variety as I often think frozen pizzas are short on toppings. As always I recommend trying it for yourself as my taste buds aren't the end all be all.  For now this pizza lover is going to stick with the rising crust and I'll just keep making it ultimate on my own.
