The real-estate market in Music City has a new "highest-priced" residential listing, thanks to country music's Alan Jackson.
According to a June 30, 2009, report in The Tennessean, Jackson's landmark property on Moran Road, is now up for grabs, with an asking price of $38 million.
Mike Nichols, president of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, has said that Jackson's listing surpasses the No 2.-ranked "highest-priced" property by about $9 million. That estate, listed for $29,500,000, is currently owned by Gary and Portia Baker and located just off Coleman Road in rural southwest Williamson County, Tenn.
Among the selling points of the Grammy-winning Jackson's estate are its full basketball court and boat house, as well as the property's two ponds. Known as Sweetbriar, the 19,000 square-foot home is situated on 135 acres along the Harpeth River. The spacious abode also boasts six bedrooms, seven full baths and two half-baths, not to mention a nine-car garage, according to its realty listing.
Jackson's home joins several other country stars' home on the Nashville area's current real estate market, which also lists pricey homes--or rather, former homes--of multi-platinum-selling music stars such as Kix Brooks of Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney and LeAnn Rimes and husband Dean Sheremet, the latter of which has been on the market since mid- to late May 2009.
