A string of country favorites, from Tracy Lawrence and Pam Tillis, to Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Byrd, have shared their vocal talents on the soundtrack of the country-injected Noble Things motion picture, which hit theaters over the weekend.
The movie is built on a country music dream, with lead character "Jimmy Wayne Collins" of Blackwater, Texas, aiming to be the next-big thing on the genre's musical map, but of course, things are complicated, to say the least, per the film's storyline.
In addition to the aforementioned hit-makers, country's Clay Walker and former American Idol contestant Bo Bice, too, contributed to the soundtrack, the latter of whom extended his Southern-rock charm to the soundtrack's "Old Spanish Trail" number, which is featured in a pivotal chase scene in the film.
However, Bice's participation on the Noble Things soundtrack is not his first such outing, thanks to his musical contributions to the Will Ferrell/Jon Heder film dubbed Blades of Glory. For that movie, Bice handled the title track of that film and also made an accompanying music video.
Country stars also are among the cast members of Noble Things; specifically, fellow Texans and well-known country stars Lee Ann Womack, a 2009 CMA nominee, and Byrd serve as supporting actors. The movie also includes a Hollywood who’s-who of familiar faces, including Michael Parks (Grindhouse, Kill Bill, From Dusk ‘Til Dawn), Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy, Remember The Titans, Saving Private Ryan), Dominique Swain (Alpha Dog, Face/Off, Lolita), Wes Brown (True Blood, We Are Marshall, Glory Road) and Ron Canada (Wedding Crashers, Cinderella Man, National Treasure).
