Daiya!  It's arguably the best vegan cheese on the market.  It's new, it melts, it stretches, and it's cheesy!  The best part is that it's a more natural alternative to most of the other vegan cheeses on the market.  It is based mainly on whole ground cassava root.  It doesn't sound appetizing, but after one taste, you would have a hard time beliving that it contains no animal products at all!

You can use Daiya in the same way you would use any regular cheese.  It's cholesterol free, free of preservatives, free of artificial ingredients, 33% less fat than dairy cheese, and a good source of vitamin B-12.  While it's currently difficult to find, you can order it online at Pangea

If you're lucky enough to live in Philadelphia, you can now get Daiya on the pizzas at both Whole Foods locations!  Just stop into the stores on South St. or Callowhill and ask for Daiya on your next pizza!  Go try it for yourself and see what all the buzz is about.  With products like this, there's no need to exploit animals to eat deliciously cheesy food.
