The Embarcadero Center Ice Skating RInk (Photo: Ed Uyeshima)

If you’re worried that your triple axel has gotten rusty over the summer, then you have at least three ice rinks in San Francisco to practice to your heart’s content this holiday season. Prices have gone up a dollar on average this year. The Union Square ice rink is in its second year with the surrounding merchants hopeful that skaters will shop and vice-versa. The Embarcadero Center ice rink has been going strong for over two decades. You can always skate at the Yerba Buena Ice Skating Center, and the Winter Lodge down in Palo Alto is another option for peninsula dwellers. Sadly, the San Francisco Zoo’s continuing economic woes have forced them to cancel their fifth annual Reindeer Romp and ice skating rink this year.
