Another week, another big division rivalry game. On Sunday, the Raiders will host their arch-enemy Kansas City Chiefs in a game that will give the Raiders the chance for them to have a non-losing record in the AFC West for the first time since 2002. The Raiders have already beaten the Chiefs soundly earlier this season, and look to do so once again.
This season, the Chiefs are reeling at 1-10. They are on their third-string quarterback, and have had to remodel their offense on the fly this season. They had low expectations coming into the season, with it being a dreaded "rebuilding year," but not many people expected them to come out and challenge the Detroit Lions for the top pick in the draft. For that matter, the last game the Lions won before their 19-game losing streak was against these very same Chiefs last season.
The Raiders, on the other hand, have been slowly rebuilding themselves after their embarrassment against the Atlanta Falcons. The defense has grown measurably, and then the offense finally broke out of its funk last week against the Broncos.
The one thing is the Raider-Chiefs games have a long history of going down to the wire and being won in the closing seconds. Too often the last few years it was the Chiefs with those close wins. However, the Raiders have won two of three from the Chiefs, and as long as the Raiders play like they can play, they will take this game.
