Ode to Caleb Hanie

August 13, 12:25 PM
by Sean Cassidy, Chicago Bears Examiner

Ode to My Hero!
Oh Caleb Hanie,
            you Colorado man.
            You bucking ram.
You do make my heart sing,
            with the passes you zing
And your spirals do mesmerize.
            You could save this franchise!

Oh Caleb Hanie!
Do you know what you’re up against?
            A history of incompetence.
Twenty-one different quarterbacks,
            since Favre began taking snaps.
Can Twenty-two get us on track?
In an endless line of stopgaps.

So we will wait for you.
Beneath the lights by the lake.
And raise our voices for you,
while it’s our hearts you’ll take.

December 2, 11:33 AM
Sunday night about 25 minutes into the game the Bears lost control; lost control of the game, of the division and possibly their season. It was in frighteningly familiar fashion – failed 4th down conversion, followed by being torched in the passing... Read More

November 25, 12:49 PM
It’s hard to say that a victory over one of the worst teams in the NFL is a cure for all there ills, but it should at least help shake off the hangover of the debacle in Green Bay. Sunday in St. Louis the Bears manhandled the Rams and finally did... Read More

Bears in Five week 11: Disaster in Green Bay

November 18, 2:00 PM
Sunday’s 37-3 defeated at the hands of the Green Bay Packers may be the worst game under the tenure of Lovie Smith. If not the worst than it certainly ranks right up there with the 41-10 drubbing the Bears received at the hands of the Colts... Read More

Bearscast Over/Under week 11: Bears @ Packers

McNeil on Urlacher: A week late, convincing argument short

November 13, 12:04 PM
In today’s Chicago Sun-Times, ESPN 1000’s Dan McNeil – co-host of the Mac, Jurko, and Harry Show – decided he would take Brian Urlacher’s underperformance to task. Which would be great, ya know, if I hadn’t done the... Read More

Will he or won’t he? Orton still questionable for Packers

November 13, 9:47 AM
The Chicago Bears are a team full of questions. About the only thing we’ve been sure of all year is that the defense can stop the run. So it’s fitting that heading into the biggest game of the season the Bears have their biggest question... Read More

In defense of Devin Hester

Bears in Five week 10: Bears flaws keep Titans undefeated

November 11, 12:10 PM
There are a lot of games on the Bears schedule it would have been more costly to lose. A loss to an undefeated out-of-conference team is probably the most understandable Bears loss this year. Yet, there’s something about this game that leaves... Read More
