My obsession with Grey Gardens reached its peak a couple of weeks ago when HBO aired their movie version. I am and forever shall be captivated by Little Edie and Big Edie. The original documentary is riveting, but for Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange to totally embody two of the most intriguing (and let's face it, unintentionally hilarious) figures in pop culture history - well, that just makes me wrap my head in a scarf with the utmost joy.

As for the fashion, the two women are icons. They are whimsical and were sporting the boho-chic style way before Sienna Miller became the poster girl for it.

In this particular scene from the original documentary, Little Edie gives us the best fashion advice:

It's versatile. It's fun. It's functional. And in an odd way, it's very chic. I mean, come on - who would've thought a skirt could double as a cape?! Pure genius.

...and did anyone else finally respect Drew as an actress after watching the HBO feature? Both her and Jessica Lange were brilliant.
