It looks like all of my guesses were wrong! Michelle Obama wows us again with a glamorously bold one-shouldered Jason Wu in white with beautiful detailing and the flow of a Goddess. Once again, she wows us with an unexpected choice of designer. The Tawainese-American emerging designer is known for his impeccable construction, gorgeous femininity and designs for the modern beautiful woman. He combines contemporary charm but still keeps in line with lady like classicism. The color is safe, but the detailing all over the dress adds sartorial ambition - it's very red carpet. The one-strap showcases her shoulders well and the dress is decent.
All in all, I appreciate the choices that Michelle has made with her wardrobe today. If tons and tons of fashionistas had us guessing for months about what she was going to wear, then she is obviously a fashion icon. Her outfits today are just a taste of what's to come. I guess she did bring back glam to the White House! She definitely knows her fashion!
What do you think of her choice of dress? If you didn't dig this gown what dress (click here to see the sketches) would you have liked to see her in?
