Another SF Bay Area native: Derek Lam represents the YAY AREA with his signature sporty-meets-chic style via loose-fitting jumpers, elegant (but not pertentious) seperates and effortlessly versatile gowns.
Quiet colors for spring and summer: Let's face it, the palette wasn't that exciting, but Lam's mix of structure and flow throughout the collection keeps it interesting.
Everybody JUMP! I'm really diggin' the return of the jump suit. Lam creates variaton of the reincarnated trend that range from loose-fit to assymetric and sophisticated.
Was that Dorothy Zbornak? There was one piece that didn't really sit well with me. It was a Golden Girl-esque Bea Arthur shimmery coat.
Overall critique? Mr. Lam knows what he's doing and every woman should be wearing his clothes - except for the Dorothy coat.
