The Kid Grid Kit Bag.

The stylish scientists at Kidrobot recently brewed up a whole new batch of handbags and accessories to titillate and bring out the inner-Harajuku in urban hipsters everywhere.

The collection of eye-popping messenger bags and totes is the result of a new partnership with the peeps at Schifter + Partners, who have launched similar fashionably funky products like products from Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers collections as well as the Jill Stuart handbag collection.

“Kidrobot is an amazingly creative brand that blends so many artistic disciplines into a kaleidoscopic, technocolor mix of color, form and emotion, said Schifter in a recent statement.  “It’s hip hop meets Japanese anime meets contemporary art.”

The duffel canvas bag and pouch canvas.

Along with the cutesy staple robot character, the new collection of sleek, graffiti-esque products have dangling key chains that look like the cooler and more rebellious cousin of Hello Kitty.

The Pile-up Zip Bag.

The new bags and pouches are quite an eye catcher. With vibrant colors, quirky characters and “cool” appeal, they are very youthful – and I stress the word youthful.

Sure, I would get one of these for a child, tween or even a teenager, but for an adult? I would go for something more discreet like a nice little pouch or even the duffel.

Nonetheless, the candy coated brand does offer a wide array of other adult-friendly items. But if you want to find the urban-chic, space age contemporary Harajuku kid in you, Kidrobot won’t disappoint.

To grab hold of one these vibrant bags, visit the Kidrobot store in San Francisco at  1512 Haight Street, 415-487-9000 or visit their website.
