This year, San Francisco played host to some swanky fashion exhibits...oh yeah, I also went to one at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. And why shouldn't fashion be featured in special exhibits?

The Halston Retrospective at Neiman Marcus, October 2008: The chic style Roy Halston Frowick invented in '70s and '80s came to life in the confines of Neiman Marcus in Union Square - and Andre Leon Talley was there!!!

Metropolitan Museum of Art’s "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" exhibition: I took a little trip to New York in May and took a gander at this exhibit which combined two of my favorite things: comic books and fashion. Yes, I am a geeky fashionisto. The exhibit was fab, giving us actual costumes worn in movies (Christian Bale's "Dark Knight" costume was in the mix) as well superhero-inspired outfits created by some of the world's most top-notch designers. Afterwards, I ate lunch with S & B on the steps of the Met.

Yves Saint Laurent exhibit at the de Young, November 2008: The exhibit that featured designs from the late and great YSL was, by far, one of the best fashion exhibits at the de Young. Walking through each display was testimony to why Laurent was one of the most trailblazing designers of our time.
