The fabulous shoes at discount luxe retailer, Jeremys

As I sit here trying to digest my food from an enjoyably gluttonous Thanksgiving meal, I can’t help but think of all the cardio-infused shopping I am going to do tomorrow. But at the same time, there’s this constant coverage on the economy that puts an ominous cloud over all of our heads.

Every morning when I watch the news, that volatile Dow ticker sits in the corner of the screen taunting me with its erratic behavior. It’s basically a thing that makes all of us go, “Oh s***! Is today the day that we are going to become a third world country?”

This whole doom and gloom of the economy and the constant talk of pending recession is quite annoying. In a way, it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Why can’t we just focus on the upside of things and the “change we need.” Everything is all mopey with this economy B.S.

I know this is reality and it’s affecting everyone, but I think I am going to take a higher road. I am going to follow the idea of “The Secret” and deliver positive economical energy into the universe. I am just going to spend and spend and spend. I am going to act as if I am filthy rich (God knows I say that to myself everyday). And – I think I may have the ability to single handedly stimulate the economy with my modest bank account.

That said, I am not going to give you “looks for less” and all that other mumbo jumbo. I am going to give you a mantra: “If I can afford it, I’ll buy it.” It’s all about balance folks – and with all these sales going on, it’s pretty easy to find cheap finds. I mean, everywhere I go there are sale racks: Barneys, Macys, H&M (apparently, they are open 24 hours today) as well as a swarm of other retailers.

More than that, I URGE you to support local businesses. Stores like AB Fits and Gimme Shoes have collaborated for a warehouse sale that has items like Nudie Jeans and Prada shoes marked down 75 to 85 percent! The sale lasts until December 7 at 182 Gough Street in Hayes Valley (they are closed Monday and Tuesday) – so go there before it’s all gone. Plus, my fave place for luxury items, Jeremys, is making it hot with a sale that lasts through Sunday with everything 50 percent off.

If you are adult enough to buy stuff, then just do it. Don’t let this economic bullcorn get you down. Like I said, I know it’s reality but that doesn’t mean you have to be a miser and use the “our economy is so bad right now” excuse.  Live your life, be fabulous and stimulate that economy – just as long as you are a responsible adult about it. If you can’t afford those $1,000 pair of Louboutins, but you can afford a $300 pair of Stewart Weitzmans, then go for the latter. Save your money. The Louboutins will always be there. Which reminds me - I believe Saks in Union Square is having a sale where nearly all of their shoes are 70 percent. And I also think that the Marc Jacobs store on Maiden Lane is having a 70 percent off sale too.

But I digress...

You only live once folks and if you don’t buy those fabulous items (at discounted rates) now, then you’ll be wishing that you did get them later when the U.S. has turned into a desolate country of Debbie Downers who wear Crocs and recycled acid wash on a daily basis.

Other than that, I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving! And I hope you have a lovely Black Friday!
