In todays complex world a usable calendar has become a necessity. Back in the 80's we started carrying around our Day-timers. In the 90's we switched to our PDA's. In this decade, Apple came to our rescue with the iPod Touch (I've been warned that I will be facing physical harm if I referred to it as an iTouch.)

Today, however we have the cloud! A calendar must be all things to all people. I would like therefore to look at the options and review them.  Here are the criteria that I will be using to evaluate them:

  1. It must be available on OSX, Windows and Unix
  2. I must be able to sync it easily from each environment
  3. I must be able to view it on my iPod Touch
  4. It must have monthly, weekly and daily views
  5. It must print out a snappy, easy to read hard copy
  6. I must be ably to easily add a recurring appointment

Currently I'm looking at: ICal, Google Calendar, Open Office and Nozbe. I don't know if Outlook is available on the mac. Stay tuned -

Am I missing anything? let me know if there are other calendars that I should be looking at - or criteria I should be using. Are there any other software types I should be looking at?
