I

OK, I admit - I'm a Google fan. Please note that the root of the word "fan" is "fanatic". I don't know if that word fits me, but I do really enjoy well designed software, google fits that bill. SO, this morning I Googled the word Google and played with it for a while. Then I went into my favorite sandbox, Amazon.com, and did a search on the word Google.  That list provided a new sandbox for me to play in.

OK, back to reality. I use Macs. I can explain why if you want me to, however in the Mac world, documentation can be poor. Mac provides quite a lot of features, however finding them and using them can be a chore. Enter "The Missing Manual" books. These books provide the guide to the available features in an understandable manner. I found the Missing Manual for Google Apps.  Amazon lists it at $30.00, but you can get a used copy for $16. I ordered one!

Usually the Amazon adds are quite pedestrian - like mine is, I guess. (Cheap plug?) However the Amazon page for this book is a valuable tool in its own right. There are three lists in that article that I have printed off for my own use  and will play with:

  • Top 14 Google Docs Tricks,
  • Top 10 Cool Things about Gmail,
  • 11 Ways to Save Time with Google Apps

Go have fun!

AND OF COURSE: There's Google Apps for Dummies. I'll be ordering this one later.
