It’s that time of year again where scrapbookers, stampers, and digital and paper crafters alike come together to shop, crop, and learn about new products and techniques.

Yes, the Great American Scrapbook Convention has stormed into the DC Metropolitan Area. And crafters couldn’t be happier!

Doors opened yesterday with shoppers at the ready. With cash in their pockets, back up credit cards in their wallets, and very large tote bags on their shoulders, crafters lined up to enter the largest (and only - thank you, F+W Media) scrapbook convention that comes to the area.

Crafters could be seen in watching demonstrations, doing make-and-takes, entering drawings, shopping, and chatting it up with the 69 fabulous vendors on the convention floor.

The convention opens again today, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., at the Dulles Expo and Conference Center in Chantilly, VA. Crafters traveled from all around to attend the convention and take classes from professionals in the scrapbooking industry, including Memory Makers Masters, like Staci Etheridge and Crystal Jeffrey Rieger. Over the two-day convention there will be more than 100 classes.

Classes are still available for all skill levels from beginning to advanced. There are classes in traditional and digital mediums. As well as, classes for stampers, scrapbookers, home décor creators, mini album makers, and those wanting to learn new techniques.

The box office opens prior to the convention floor. General admission tickets ($10) and class registration can be purchased at the box office. The general admission ticket gives you access to the convention floor, which includes access to the new Learning Pavilion.

A door prize ticket is included with your admission. It that can be used to enter to win fabulous door prizes – winners will be drawn throughout the day.

Whether you are a paper or digital crafter, the convention gives you the chance to fully immerse yourself in this wonderful hobby.

Don’t forget to bring a few cards to donat to our troops.  Drop them in the CARDSFORHEROES.ORG box on the table at the convention entry or at the fun crop tonight.
