How unemployed are you? The New York Times has an interactive statistical graph that shows the true unemployment rates for people of different races, gender, age, and education levels.

For better or for worse, women in the 25-44 age group with college or higher education have an unemployment rate of only 4.2%.  This varies across race groups, with white women at 3.6%, black women at 6.7%, hispanic women at 5.1%, and all other races at 5.0%.

By far those who fare the worst in this current economy are young (age 15-24)  black men without a high school degree - the unemployment rate for this category is a shocking 48.5% and climbing.

The statistics published are for a 12-month period average ending in September 2009.  For the full article, see the New York Times  "Jobless Rate For People Like You".
