Kepler liftoff

The Kepler planet-seeker mission is under way following a spectacular night launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. All systems onboard the Delta II rocket and the Kepler spacecraft have performed as planned.

This latest NASA mission is designed to search a specific section of the Milky Way for Earth-like planets. Get the background here.
