After battling through tropical storms that shut down KSC and two other NASA facilities, NASA officials today announced a two-day delay of its final Space Shuttle missions for 2008.
Atlantis and the seven crew members of the STS-125 Hubble servicing mission will launch at approximately 12:33 a.m. EDT, Friday, Oct. 10 and land at about 10:21 p.m. Oct. 20. The shuttle rolled out to Launch Pad 39A yesterday.
Next up: a supply and astronaut swap-out run to the International Space Station (ISS) by Endeavour and its seven-member crew. The STS-126 mission will lift off about 8:43 p.m. Nov. 12 and land at about 2:45 p.m., Nov. 27.
Flying home with them: astronaut Greg Chamitoff, who's now winding up five months in space. ASA astronaut Sandra Magnus will replace Chamitoff aboard the ISS.
