Wild Weather Adventure
Wild Weather Adventure/NASA

While meteorologists and U.S. Gulf  coast area residents keep a wary eye on Hurricane Gustav and Tropical Storm Hanna, the kids in your family can take on NASA'S Wild Weather Adventure.

Partnered with NOAA, NASA created the game to test and expand players' knowledge about Earth's environment. You'll start out as the pilot of your own weather balloon.

The goal is to be the first travel from San Francisco, CA around the world and berth back in Miami, FL. Along the way, you'll be challenged with weather questions. You can choose which level of challenge question you'd like to answer: easy, medium, or hard.

You can play by yourself, or against friends. Designed for early childhood, the game isn't big on splashy graphics, but is big on things to learn. Think of it as a board game on the computer, with a lively interface.

The game is Flash-based. For those without Flash, or with slower download speeds, the site provides a text-only version.
