Richard Garriott

Computer game developer Richard Garriott, scheduled to become Earth's sixth space tourist this fall, will be a guest on today's live streaming The Space Show.  He'll speak about his training for his October flight from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. PDT.

Garriott, traveling through Space Adventures, is scheduled to be launched from LC-15 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Soyuz TMA-13. The working crew includes cosmonaut Salizhan Sharipov and Expedition 18 leader astronaut Michale Fincke. Garriott will return via Soyuz TMA-12.

Garriott's the son of astronaut Owen K. Garriott, who flew aboard Skylab 3 and Space Shuttle mission STS-9. The younger Garriott, who first made his gaming mark with the Ultima series, will be the first American offspring of an astronaut to go into space.

Space Adventures has previously sent five space tourists to the ISS.  They include Dennis Tito (2001), Mark Shuttleworth (2002), Gregory Olsen (2005), Anousheh Ansari (2006) and Charles Simony (2007).

The Space Show, hosted by Dr. Richard Livingston, also provides archives of its broadcats.
